State Tournament Will Have 2 Spartan Wrestlers Entered

Martin, Brown Medal at Regionals to Qualify

  Senior Tarkan Martin and Sophomore Timmy Brown placed 3rd and 4th respectively in their classes to earn a bid to the AAA State Tournament in Chesapeake, VA on February 15-16.  Tarkan placed 3rd after falling to Casey Bowers of Hylton in the semifinals, but came back to win back to back matches to earn bronze.  

  Timmy Brown lost in the quarters to eventual Region Champ Tommy Aloi of Forest Park, but would win 3 consecutive matches to earn a spot in the consolation finals before falling to Nail of Colonial Forge.  Congratulations to both and good luck next week as they look to earn All-State placement by earning 8th or higher in the tournament!
